    Foxfire and Freeways: Almost there!

We’re about 75–80% packed and I’m convinced the last 20% is just pure chaos in disguise 😭📦

Like where did all these random cords come from??

Why do I keep finding things I swear I already packed??

And why does packing with a baby feel like a full-time boss battle? 😅

But in between the mess, the boxes, and the “what even is this?” moments… it’s starting to hit me.

    This isn’t just packing.

It’s us getting ready to leave one chapter behind and step into something completely new — new places, new memories, and a life we’ve been dreaming about for a while now 🧡

Chaos and all… we’re almost there.

So we’re at that stage now.

    Where some things are packed…

    some things are definitely not…

and somehow the list of things to do is not getting any shorter.

There are boxes everywhere, but also things just sitting out like, “don’t forget me,” which I absolutely will if it’s not in a box by tomorrow.

I keep thinking we’re almost there, and then I open a drawer or a closet and immediately realize… we are not.

    Not even a little.

It’s that weird in-between where nothing feels settled anymore, but we’re not fully out either.

Just kind of existing in the middle of it all.

There’s a mix of excitement and exhaustion, a little bit of stress, and a lot of “we’ll figure it out.”

And somehow, even with everything half-packed and slightly chaotic, it still feels like we’re moving forward.

Even if it currently looks like a mess.

Especially if it looks like a mess.

At this point, I’m just hoping everything makes it into the truck… and that we don’t forget anything important.

    (We probably will.)

But we’ll deal with that when we get there.

For now, it’s just one box at a time. Is it just me

Or is the Amazon box smirking at me?! Haha

Foxfire and Freeways: It’s Getting Real

We picked up the moving truck yesterday.

And I don’t know what it is about that specifically, but that’s when it really hit.

Like… oh. This isn’t just planning anymore.
This isn’t just talking about it.

    We’re actually doing this.

There’s something about seeing all that empty space in the back of a truck that makes you realize how much of your life you’re about to pack up—and how much you’re about to leave behind.

    Also… mildly terrifying.

We’re somewhere between excitement and “are we sure this is a good idea?”
Which I’m pretty sure is exactly where you’re supposed to be when you’re about to do something big.

There are boxes everywhere, things still not packed (of course), and a running list in my head of stuff I’m probably forgetting.

And somehow, in the middle of all that chaos, there’s also this weird sense of… rightness.

Like even though it’s messy and stressful and a little overwhelming, it still feels like we’re moving in the direction we’re supposed to go.

We’ll see how I feel after loading everything in 😅

    But for now—
    the truck is here,
    the countdown is real,
and there’s no backing out now.

    Let’s go.

Welcome to the part of life where we said, “yeah, let’s just go for it” and then actually did.

We’ve got a kid, a whole lot of miles ahead of us, music to chase, festivals to hit, and just enough planning to keep things from completely falling apart (hopefully).

This is going to be part travel, part mom-life, part “where are we even at right now,” and part making memories in the middle of all the chaos.

We’re not doing perfect over here—we’re doing real, a little wild, and figuring it out as we go, and not the picture-perfect version either.

I’m talking snacks in random places, double-checking if we forgot something (we probably did), figuring things out in real time, and learning how to balance family life with miles, music, and whatever comes next.

Did I mention that there’s a kid in the mix? which means this whole thing comes with extra chaos, extra laughs, and a lot of “well… this should be interesting.”

We’ll be hitting different states, festivals, chasing opportunities, and maybe even going out of the country at some point—which still feels a little unreal to say out loud.

But this isn’t just about the big moments.

    It’s about the in-between stuff:

    The long drives.

    The tired mornings.

The random stops that turn into good memories.

The “are we really doing this?” moments that somehow turn into “I’m really glad we did.”

This blog (and the page) is where all of that’s going to live.

Not just the highlight reel—but the real version. The messy, funny, sometimes stressful, sometimes magical version.

We don’t have everything figured out.

    But we’re going anyway.

So yeah… this is Foxfire & Freeways.

So if you’re into messy, meaningful, slightly unhinged adventures…you’ll probably fit right in.

Buckle up, sit back and enjoy the scenery
