Foxfire & Freeways: A Pause in Texas
We made it back to my hometown in Texas and settled into an RV park not far from my parents.
After weeks of packing, driving, moving, and figuring things out as we go, today felt like a pause.
Not a full stop… just a moment to breathe.
We got the trailer unhitched, grabbed some dinner, and now we’re settling in for the night.
Lil man is currently in the middle of another bedtime battle—round two of the camper life routine—but even that feels different tonight.
Maybe it’s because we’re not rushing to the next destination right now.
Maybe it’s because we finally have a couple days to just be.
It’s been almost two weeks of constant movement.
New places, new routines, long drives, and learning as we go.
And somewhere in the middle of it all, this is starting to feel like our normal.
Not perfect. Not always easy.
But real.
We’ve got a BBQ planned with my parents on Friday, and then Sunday morning we’re back on the road—heading toward Colorado.
From there, it’s camping near friends, another RV site, and then straight into the Barbarian Festival.
The road isn’t slowing down.
But for right now… it’s quiet.
And that’s enough.
