🦊 Festival Life: One Last Weekend in the Books ⚔️🎶
And just like that, our last working festival of the season is officially in the books!
Today was a good day, and thankfully, a whole lot better weather-wise than yesterday. 😂 After all the wind and weather we’ve dealt with along the way, I’ll gladly take a day that doesn’t feel like it’s trying to send our merchandise flying straight to another realm!
The crowd wasn’t particularly big today, but we were in what I jokingly call church country, so naturally, plenty of folks were off attending church. It happens!
Despite the smaller crowd, we still had a good day, and Walter got to spend more time playing with his little festival friends. Of course, he managed to make a few new ones, too. That boy seems to have no trouble making friends wherever we go!
One of the things I hope we can do is return next year. Walter will be a little bigger by then, and hopefully, he’ll be able to keep up with some of the kids he’s been playing with throughout this trip. Watching him build friendships and interact with other little ones has been such a wonderful part of this adventure. It’s something I hope he’ll get to experience for years to come. 🧡
Now we’re pointing the camper toward Iowa, where we’ll spend a few days before making the trek back home to Ohio. It’s only about a four-hour drive to Iowa, which feels pretty manageable after all the miles we’ve covered this season!
And while our working festival schedule is finished, we’re not quite done with festival season just yet.
We have one more festival this coming weekend, but this time, we’re going purely for funsies! No working the merch booth, no responsibilities beyond enjoying ourselves, seeing some of our favorite Renfolk, and catching a couple of bands we love.
Honestly, that sounds like a pretty wonderful way to wrap up the season.
It’s strange to think about how much we’ve done over these past months. We’ve crossed states, visited places we’d never seen before, met new people, reconnected with friends, watched Walter reach milestone after milestone, and collected enough stories to fill a whole lot of blog posts.
And speaking of blog posts…
We’re currently sitting at 84 posts, and I still want to make it to 100! 😂
I’m sure I can squeeze a few more stories out of this adventure before we’re officially home. Between the last fun festival, the drive through Iowa, and whatever little adventures find us along the way, I’m not ready to call the blogging season finished just yet.
We’re getting closer to home, one mile at a time.
Until the next mile, keep the fire lit and the road calling. 🧡🦊
