Foxfire & Freeways: Hollywood Stars, Funko Heaven & Missing Home

Foxfire & Freeways: Hollywood Stars, Funko Heaven & Missing Home 🎬⭐🦊

Well, we finally made it to Los Angeles!

And naturally, one of our first stops had to be Hollywood Boulevard. ⭐

We spent quite a while walking up and down the boulevard checking out part of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, looking at all the names beneath our feet and stopping to take pictures with some of our favorites.

And apparently our timing was almost really good.

We found out that Nia Long had received her star earlier that morning, with Snoop Dogg there for the ceremony.

We arrived something like two hours too late. 😂

Soooo close.

We’d secretly been hoping we’d happen to spot someone famous while we were wandering around Hollywood, but no celebrity sightings for us this time.

That’s okay. 😂

There were still plenty of famous names under our feet, and we had fun finding favorites and taking pictures along the way.

Eventually, all that walking meant one thing:

Food.

We stopped at Chicken Guy!, the chicken restaurant co-founded by Guy Fieri, and it was actually pretty good!

Then we continued exploring Hollywood…

And I found a dangerous place.

The Funko store.

Y’all.

I collect a few Funko Pops, so there was absolutely no way I was walking past that place without going inside. 😂

And calling it a “store” almost doesn’t do it justice.

It felt like walking into a little city of characters.

There were giant displays and characters from seemingly every corner of pop culture—Disney, sports, kids’ shows, adult shows, movies, television and just about everything else you could think of.

Naturally, I couldn’t leave empty-handed.

I found myself a new Jack and Sally Loungefly backpack that GLOWS IN THE DARK. 🖤

Because obviously I needed that.

Then I thought I’d grabbed a Bluey Pop for Bug.

Got back and realized…

Nope. I grabbed Bandit. 🤣

So apparently this means Bug now needs the whole Bluey set.

That’s how collecting works, right?

I also found Chris a John Elway Denver Broncos Funko Pop, so everybody came away with a little something.

But there was one thing I left behind that I may regret.

They had a Star Trek bag with a TRIBBLE COIN PURSE attached to it.

A TRIBBLE.

COIN.

PURSE.

😂

I may have to come back for that someday.

They also have a section where you can build your own Funko Pop, which immediately gave me another idea for a future visit.

Next time, I might have to make Pops representing our whole little Foxfire & Freeways family.

Because apparently I need another hobby to spend money on. 😂

We had originally planned to head over and explore Sunset Boulevard too, but after being gone for a while, we felt like we needed to get back to the campground for Sunna.

So Sunset Boulevard will have to wait for another Los Angeles adventure.

And when we come back, there’s one Walk of Fame star in particular I want to find.

Ozzy Osbourne. 🖤

The Prince of Darkness.

He’s been sorely missed, and getting a picture with his star is something I’d really like to do someday.

I know I’ll see him again in another life.

Until then, finding his little piece of Hollywood will have to do. 🖤

Even our campground had a little bit of Hollywood tucked into it.

Several areas around the property have apparently been used as filming locations and are still used for filming today. As we looked around, there were a few places that felt strangely familiar—including this huge, long row of red-and-white horse stalls that I swear I’ve seen somewhere before.

I couldn’t place what movie or show I remembered it from, but it was one of those:

“WAIT. I KNOW THAT!”

…followed immediately by having absolutely no idea what I know it from. 😂

And now we’ve traded Hollywood for Oceanside, California, where we’re only about 15 minutes from where we need to be for this weekend.

After that?

Monday we point the truck toward Colorado, and then it’s on to Montana.

And just like that, this leg of the tour is starting to come to a close.

It’s a strange feeling.

We’ve seen so much.

We’ve driven so many miles.

We’ve watched Bug grow and change right in front of us while experiencing places we’d only ever seen in pictures.

And I’ve loved it.

But…

I’m ready to go home. 🧡

I miss my chickens.

I miss our house.

And dear lord, I MISS BEING ABLE TO COOK. 😂

There’s still road ahead of us before we get there, though.

So we’re not quite done chasing miles yet.

But for the first time in a while, every mile ahead is slowly starting to point us back toward home.

🦊🧡

Until the next mile, keep the fire lit and the road calling. 🔥🛣️
