We Made It to Ohio — Day 3 of the Journey

There’s a certain kind of exhaustion that only comes from the road.

Not just “I need sleep,” but the kind where your whole body feels like it’s still moving even after you’ve stopped. The kind powered by gas station snacks, caffeine, and sheer determination… and maybe a little poor decision-making.

That was today.

Day 3 started with a sunrise cutting through a windshield that has definitely seen better days (at this point it’s less “glass” and more “abstract filter”). Somewhere between the miles, the quiet stretches of highway, and the hum of the truck, it finally started to sink in—we were really doing this.

Leaving Idaho Springs behind. Crossing state lines. Heading toward something new.

And after everything—the packing, the stress, and yes… the incident with the truck key (RIP to my dignity in that gas station bathroom)—we pulled into Ohio safe.

Tired? Completely.
Relieved? Absolutely.
Proud? More than I can put into words.
Slightly traumatized by public restrooms? Also yes.

This trip wasn’t perfect. It wasn’t polished. There were moments that felt chaotic, overwhelming, and honestly a little ridiculous.

But it was real.

And somewhere in all that mess, it became something I know we’ll look back on and laugh about… probably sooner than expected.

Tonight, we rest. (And by rest, I mean stare at boxes and question our life choices.)

Tomorrow, we start figuring out what this next chapter looks like.

And if nothing else—
we survived the road, the chaos, and the Great Truck Key Incident of 2026.

Ohio doesn’t even know what just rolled in.
